What is the Pencil Board?

The Hobonichi pencil boards are specially designed to fit the A6 Planner/Original size, A5 Cousin size, and Weeks size. Keeping it underneath the page you’re writing on allows reinforcement and provides an enjoyable writing experience.

Who is it suitable for?

The pencil board is recommended for users who have filled their inner cover pockets with thick items or users who write with a lot of pressure and leave indentations on the opposite pages.

We created pencil boards using artworks by Kubota Hiroko we previously featured in the Hobonichi Techo lineup.

The pencil boards featuring pandas drawn by illustrator and children’s book author Jin Kitamura come in three sizes: A6 size, A5 size and Weeks size.

The A6 size features a panda holding a yellow flower, which acts as an accent. The front has a pink beige base, and the back is in pink, creating a gentle look. The A5 size shows pandas in various expressions as they play with their favorite tires. The base color of the front is the same pink beige as the A6 size, but the back is a calming blue gray. The Weeks size shows a panda drawn in colorful lines of red, yellow, blue and more. The front is white to bring out the colourful lines, and the back is a vibrant blue.

One side is labeled by millimetre to act as a metric ruler, and a 'Today' tab on the corner marks the current page if you’d like to use it as a bookmark as well. Try the Hobonichi Pencil Board for yourself and you’ll see how great it is to use.
